Vicki Bristol is senior communications and marketing manager at the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau, specializing in media relations management and social media. She manages the CVB’s PR and social media agencies of record, oversees media relations management for all domestic media, including inbound and outbound media events, and is responsible for editorial management for the CVB’s forthcoming website, Outside of work, she can be found enjoying one of the city’s 130 festivals, trying out new recipes at home or catching a show at a local music club.
Christopher Elliott is an author, consumer advocate and journalist. His investigative reporting has earned him the reputation as “every consumer’s best friend.” He writes “The Travel Troubleshooter,” syndicated by King Features and published in outlets from the San Francisco Chronicle to The Boston Globe. He also writes “The Navigator,” a column for The Washington Post’s travel section, the “On Travel” column for USA Today and a weekly column for He has appeared on virtually every major TV network, including ABC, the BBC, CNN and NBC. In addition, Elliot has been an independent producer for NPR and a commentator for Public Radio’s “Marketplace,” while also hosting a cable TV show and co-hosting a nationally syndicated radio show. He has written for The New York Times, USA Today and The Wall Street Journal, and has been a columnist for Entrepreneur, National Geographic Traveler and Fortune. His work has appeared on a variety of online news outlets including CBS Interactive,, and His books include “Scammed” and “How to Be the World’s Smartest Traveler.”
Greg Galant is co-founder and CEO of Muck Rack, the leading network for journalists looking to connect with sources on social media. TheNextWeb called Muck Rack “one of the most useful tools ever invented for media professionals.” He is also the co-creator and executive producer of The Shorty Awards, honoring the best of social media. Formerly, Galant was an associate producer at, where he analyzed the latest trends in citizens' media.
Cory M. Jobe As Director of the Illinois Office of Tourism, Cory M. Jobe is responsible for leading the state’s tourism marketing and development efforts. In his role, Mr. Jobe works in collaboration with tourism industry professionals across Illinois to promote domestic and international visitor travel, and to help grow the state’s tourism industry. Prior to his appointment by Governor Bruce Rauner in January 2015, Mr. Jobe served as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the Illinois Comptroller from 2011 to 2015. Currently based in Chicago, he recently served on the Springfield City Council as the elected Alderman for Springfield’s 6th Ward, an area with many notable tourism attractions, including the Dana Thomas House and the Lincoln Home National Historic Site. From 2006-2010, Mr. Jobe served as leader of the Peoples Economic Development Corporation, and he served as Director of Economic Development for the Office of the Illinois State Treasurer from 1997 to 2006. He currently sits on the National Board of Directors for the U.S. Travel Association based in Washington, D.C., and locally sits on the Board of Directors for The Hope Institute for Children and Families.
Lilit Marcus is an editor at CNN Travel. Prior to joining CNN, she was a contributing writer for Condé Nast Traveler. Her first book, “Save the Assistants: A Guide for Surviving and Thriving in the Workplace,” was published by Hyperion. Her favorite destinations include Lisbon, Tel Aviv, Nashville and Mexico City. Her work has also appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, The Guardian, Vanity Fair and The Atlantic.
Andrea Whittle is an Associate Editor at Condé Nast Traveler, where she writes and edits pieces on travel, style, culture, and food for the magazine and website. Prior to Traveler, she held positions in the communications and special projects departments at Vanity Fair. She was born and raised in New York City, and attended Middlebury College.
